Your web app has exceeded its allotted resource on Shared Hosting, what now? You need more resources so you’ll have to move to some kind of Virtual Private Server (VPS). The simplest solution is usually your best bet first, before moving onto a VPS it’s worth noting that VPS’s come in 2 flavors managed and unmanaged. If you are coming from a shared hosting environment then you will probably want to stick with a managed VPS which means your host will manage your VPS for you. If you are a systems administrator and are comfortable in securing your server and all that goes with that then choosing an unmanaged VPS may be the way to go. You will of course pay less for an unmanaged solution.
